your donation
Please click the button to make a donation to the Sangati Center. The Sangati Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and all donations are fully tax-deductible.
We depend on financial support from individuals like you, whether it is through a simple contribution on a sliding-scale for admission to a concert or a donation online by clicking the button above, or in person, or by mail. (Please make checks to 'Sangati Center'.)
Because of our focus on providing an intimate (i.e. small) concert setting, our performances alone do not generate enough revenue to support the Sangati Center overall. Your donations help us continue to host concerts, invite visiting artists, and undertake our other activities serving music.
Please show your support - without your help, we cannot survive. If you get it, we need you. In addition to the general fund, you can donate to support these two specific projects:
your employer
We've been fortunate to receive support from generous companies who offer to match their employees' donations, or have a corporate giving program that would support a deserving community arts project like the Sangati Center. If you work for, or know of, a company with programs like these, please contact us to make the connection between a potential source of funding and the Sangati Center!
donate an instrument
Do you have an instrument lying around, wishing it were fulfilling its dharma? The Sangati Center is inviting donations of instruments, especially those of South Asian origin, especially tanpuras, in any style, state, and level of craftsmanship. We can dust them off, fix them up, and put them to good use. Instruments that have come our way to date have served in many concerts, often happily displacing electronic tanpura machines, or serving as in-house student instruments for classes. And besides serving music, you can also claim a tax write-off in the instrument's full value.
Please contact us to make arrangements.

- Concerts: Assist the event host in greeting guests at the door and tidying up afterwards.
- MGSG: We have volunteer workdays periodically to maintain the sidewalk garden.
- Donations / Attendance: Word-of-mouth by you helps us achieve these basic goals.

grant acknowledgments
In the last three months of 2008, the Sangati Center was awarded a "Matching Commission" by the San Francisco Foundation, wherein all individual donations to the Sangati Center during that period up to a total of $4000 would be matched by a grant from the SFF.With the help of nearly 50 individuals, we met and exceeded the matching goal, which enabled our robust programming in the first few months of 2009.
Thank you to those of you who contributed at that time, and we look forward to your support in the future as we continue to be San Francisco's Indian classical music art house.
We gratefully acknowledge support over the years from the following funders:
